Implant Supported Dentures
No longer do denture wearers have to tolerate loose dentures. Now the chewing functions can be restored and the patient can increase their quality of life. Some studies have shown that people with functional teeth live a decade longer. This can be attributed to among other things an increase in nutrition received. Many times a patients diet is altered around what they are able to eat.
Overdenture Case One
This patient had all remaining upper and lower teeth removed due to periodontal disease and dental decay. In this case 4 lower dental implants were placed by Dr. Glass. After integration of the implants new upper and lower dentures were fabricated. The lower denture was fitted to snap into the dental implants. This created a very solid lower denture for chewing. No longer did this patient have to worry about his lower denture coming out. Denture adhesive was no longer needed.

Overdenture Case Two
This patient had been to several other offices trying to get his lower denture to fit correctly. He had an upper partial denture that went around remaining natural teeth. On the lower he had a very resorbed mandible. Because his lower teeth were removed years before the bone had resorbed leaving nothing to support the lower denture.
Four lower implants were placed by an oral surgeon. After integration a new upper partial and a new lower denture were fabricated. Then the lower denture was modified to attach to the new dental implants.

Upper Overdenture Case Three
In this case the patient had many decayed upper teeth that had to be removed. All upper teeth were removed and 5 upper dental implants were placed by an oral surgeon. The final upper denture is palateless meaning it doesn't cover the palate like most traditional dentures. This improves taste and comfort. A new lower partial denture was made to adapt to remaining natural teeth.
